How to become an innovator for social change.

How to become an innovator for social change.

We live in uncertain and ever-changing times, where many local and global issues have been brought to the forefront.  This is stirring and encouraging many of us to want to take action. For many, It’s just not about achieving net zero targets, they want to focus on making social change.

I have heard many clients tell me they want to use their skills, resources, talents and voices to make change.  But beyond the protests – how else can we make change?

I think innovation can play a major role in helping individuals to channel their passions and talents to produce new products and services, and reshape their organisations; to help tackle a variety of social issues

Innovation provides a structure and an approach to unravel the complexities of the social challenges we are currently facing, and creatively build something new.

I have witnessed like-minded teams come together to find solutions in a short space of time.  I have worked globally with teams to develop new technologies and businesses which address a range of issues including urban poverty, food waste and social cohesion.

Finding the time and space to introduce innovative methodologies and techniques into workplaces and community groups is a great way to harness collective talents, and drive positive change.

In the words of Margaret Mead:

‘ Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has ’
